I won’t exercise.

I hate exercise. Repetitive movements for vanity.
Not for me.
I dont have anything against being healthy, but to me there is something unnattractive about a muscular body that is obviously not created by living life .
It screams “these muscles are here to impress you. hopefully you find me more acceptable than you would have if I were just being me”.

The alternative is not being out of shape or scrawny. I dont believe that to be healthy, and what we consider attractive naturally is someone who appears to be full of life force .

So what encourages life force ?

For me its hiking or nature-trails. I used to love skating when I was younger , but that got replaced with whatever outdoor activities I could find to do .
Sometimes its your job.
There are people like myself who have found a job they just adore, simultaneously its keeps you on your toes, maybe there is heavy lifting , maybe it requires being at two places at one time :D

The common thread here is finding anything it is you like to do, and doing it often. Maybe you’ll make money in the process, maybe you don’t . Maybe its playing with the kids , maybe its finding time to play with other adults .

I remembered after having kids I really needed to lose weight.
I was losing it okay, but not as fast as I wanted to. Exercising was a non-option, because there is nothing I hate more than being bored or repetitive . I remembered thinking to myself, “If I have to find a way to be more active but productive at the same time.”
What resulted was taking more opportunities to do more for others,
helping friends move, choosing to babysit for others, just doing more for others in general.
I took over more chores, and opted to walk instead of drive.

What I learned was that doing something that doesnt bring you joy spends your energy. Leaves you in a deficit.
Doing things that left me feeling good about myself while having fun or helping others gave me energy to spare, left me full of life force .

There is for some joy in “working out”. Those people thrive in a gym.
I don’t know many who are genuinely thrilled to spend time in the gym, especially if they were given the  option to avoid it.

There are ways to avoid it.
Feeling and looking good can result for both.
