Dont give in to success measurement .
I want to add my 2 cents to the people who are interested and maybe a little dependant on measuring their success, particularly the people who want to know what their blogs are worth, websites or job performance, hot or not, grade me, give me a number …..
ect.
Its really all the same.
Some part of you calls it curiousity, but Im telling you its not.
Debate it if you want, its pure unadulterated insecurity.
I like it when people say “I dont give it that much credence”, because its not a measurement of how much credence you give it, its black or white-
do you really want to know what someone else thinks of you and your creations?
OK, and once that itty bitty clearance is given, and the result is just okay, are you going to be able to just forget it?
Maybe your too busy to give it alot of airtime, but its there.
Cooking.
I can only talk about what I have experienced myself, and I have given in to someone else judgeing my work.
Then it occured to me, they do NOT know my potential.
I dont even know my own potential.
I am pure potential.
We all are.
A measurement of anything is a snapshot in time, that has little to do with where you are going, and i would dare to say little to do with where you have been.
How many people have believed they were a cog, only to have it confirmed by the outside world, and later on in life they were a tool for divine interferance?
Highschool yearbooks are full of most likely to succeed types, but you really never know who will take the step necessary for big change, or who knew where we were going all along….
Anyhoo, I want to go down in history as one who NEVER believed in constructive critism.
Not even a little.
